Studying the map I noticed this road that leads out of Bourg, the D530, through some villages and came to a dead end in a place called La Berarde to the east. I thought this looked a good place to explore so we set off on the scooter complete with packed lunch. Cracking ride as being a dead end of a route it wasn’t overly busy and goes through some wonderful villages like Vénosc across the Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans region and through some pretty fantastic climbs up balcony roads.
There’s a car park at the end in the village or La Berarde that was fairly busy with cars compared to the traffic that was on the roads but we parked up and set off on foot for walk up the mountain side in the gorgeous sunshine.
