Margam Park
The alarm was set to wake me up at 5am although I was awake on and off since 2am. Made a cuppa for Jo and myself and set my bike up ready for the ride to Margam Park, the start of the Dragon ride. Phil, our neighbour, was packing his tent away so made him one too. He had caught the train from London to camp overnight ready for today’s ride.
The ride to the start was about 4 miles and I was soon in the start pen waiting for the off. Started at 06:50 leaving Margam Park, with a long day in the saddle ahead. Several long hard climbs and 95 miles later in the glorious sunshine, I was back crossing the finish line at 14:30, Jo was there to meet me. Job Done.
Back to the campsite to rest my legs in the sun with a beer or two. Jo cooked the mandatory steak and potatoes and we had alfresco dinner as several other riders returned.
